The Benedictine Community

"Listen carefully my child to the master’s instructions.
Turn the ear of your heart. Accept willingly the warning of a kind father and vigorously put into practice al he tells you . Then the labour of obedience will bring you back to God. This is why we propose to set up a school for learning how to serve the Lord. In the regulations of this school we shall , we hope, set down nothing too severe, nothing too hard to bear.
"

Prologue, Rule of Benedict

If you are a baptized catholic woman, in good health, desire to come closer to God and wish to spend more time in prayer, perhaps God is calling you to a deeper relationship with Him

A Benedictine vocation is a choice to live the Christian life more fully, under a Rule and a superior and with the support of a community; it is also a life of service to other through which we come closer to God and are transformed into women of prayer.

Life as a Benedictine nun is one response to a call from God to a deeper friendship It is a life of love and prayer, one which includes all and everything in Christ.

The Benedictine sings at profession: Support me, Lord, according to your promise and I shall live; and do not disappoint me in my hope [Psalm 118(119):116]
